Official: Chinese Football Fans Demand for Hosting World Cup
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Sun Yuxi answered questions on China's bidding for hosting the soccer World Cup tournament at a press conference on October 30.
In his reply to whether China has the plan of bidding for hosting the World Cup, Sun said he has not heard any practical suggestions so far but he knows that the Chinese fans are demanding strongly for a bid of hosting the World Cup.
If FIFA carry out a reform on adopting a new system of play for the World Cup and China gains the support and approval of FIFA, the CFA will make a bid for sponsoring the World Cup, disclosed Zhang Jilong, vice president of China's Football Association, October 10.
