International TV Festival Closes in ChengduAn international television festival of documentaries closed Monday in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan province.The four-day festival attracted over 6,000 representatives from 23 countries and regions, who made deals on television programs, broadcasting and networking equipment, said Wu Baowen, deputy director of the organizing committee. Trade in program exchanges at the event was worth 3.6 million US dollars in foreign exchange. The number of deals made by domestic screen and video producers was also high, with a transaction total worth 340 million yuan changing hands. Seven "Golden Panda awards" for best international documentaries were given out at the festival. The awards included the best long documentaries and the best short documentaries, within the categories of humanities, society, and the environment and nature, which were won by documentaries from Britain, France, Spanish, Lebanon, Japan and China. |
