PLA Navy Fleet Concludes Voyage to Australia, New Zealand

A Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy fleet concluded its goodwill visit to Australia and New Zealand, and returned home Tuesday.

During the trip, the Chinese crewmen were in close contact with their Australian and New Zealand counterparts, and some overseas Chinese visited the warships.

The voyage was another major diplomatic move by the Chinese PLA Navy following the Chinese navy's earlier visits to ports in 23 countries in Asia, America, Europe and Oceania. It will promote mutual understanding between the Chinese navy and its Australian and New Zealand counterparts.

The fleet, comprising the latest China-built missile-equipped frigate and the comprehensive depot ship, started its voyage on September 16.
