Li Peng Meets Diplomatic Envoys of Five Host Countries

Li Peng, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, met Monday with diplomatic envoys from Algeria, Cuba, Argentine, Uruguay and Tunisia which he will visit from October 31 onwards.

He will have in-depth exchange of views with the leaders of the five nations on bilateral ties, as well as regional and international situations, Li said.

Li will also meet with a wide range of parliamentary people and from other walks of life aiming to enhance friendship, common understanding and cooperation.

He expects the visit will promote the all-round development of China's friendly relations and cooperation with these countries.

Cuban ambassador Alberto Arufe, Uruguayan ambassador Pelayo Diaz Muguerza, Tunisian ambassador Salah Hamdi, Algerian ambassador Madjid Bouguerra and a charge d'affaires ad interim of Argentine said their governments and parliaments paid great importance to the upcoming visit of Li to their countries and the visit will play an important role in promoting bilateral ties with China.
