Tomb Robbers Arrested in Beijing

A group of tomb robbers were arrested last week in Beijing, according to police sources.

The ghouls are seven farmers from central China's Henan Province, who confessed they had robbed at least nine ancient tombs in the suburbs of Beijing.

Most of the robbed tombs date back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-- 1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), police said.

A variety of ancient silver and jade wares have been seized from the temporary residences of the robbers, who dug tombs late at night and hid the relics in secret places.

Police are still doing further investigations and trying to recover the lost relics.
