League Leader Flying High in China Soccer

League Leader Flying High in China Soccer
League leader Dalian Shide widened their advantage to a nine points margin after beating Shenzhen Kejian 3-0 on Sunday in the 19th round of the Chinese soccer League first division.

The Dalian team is on top of the 14-team standings with 44 points from 18th rounds and a remarkable 14-2-2 record. The closest rival on the rank is Shanghai Shenhua, who remained at 35 points in 19 rounds after lost to Yunnan Hongta 1-0 on Sunday.

Dalian opened the score at the 30th minutes when Olando from Brazil hit a volley pass just in front of the goalmouth to give Dalian a 1-0 lead.

The second goal came in 58th minute as Shenshen's guard sent a wrong return pass to their goalkeeper Sun Gang, who tried to head the ball away but it came into his own goal.

Olando added his second goal in the 73 minute as Yan Song set up the ball from the left side.

Shenzhen retained it's third place even with the defeat, but was only two points ahead of Sichuan Shangwutong's 31 points. Sichuan beat the visiting Beijing Guo'an 2-0 early in Sunday evening.

Liaoning Fushun moved to the fourth position with a 4-2 win over Shenyang Jinde. Liaoning and Dalian both were one game shy with the current 19-round process because of playing the Asian Club earlier in July.

In other games played on Sunday, Tianjin Daida beat Qingdao Beer 2-0 and Shaanxi Guoli defeated Bayi Zhenbang 1-0. The only goalless game on Sunday was between Shandong Luneng and Chongqing Lifan.
