Pakistan Has No Information on Whereabouts of Osama: Minister

Pakistan's Interior Minister Moeen ud Din Haider said Saturday that neither Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) nor the government of Pakistan have information on whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden.

Addressing members of City District Council in Lahore Saturday, Haider said that even the Afghan army do not have any information in this regard. So there is no question of passing information from Pakistan to the United States in this regard, according a report by the Associated Press of Pakistan.

Haider said that the United States has the latest satellites and information system of their own, therefore "they are not less aware as compared to us".

The minister reiterated the stance of the government that the United States is not using Pakistan's territory to attack Afghanistan.

Only search and rescue missions are being carried out from the southern Pakistani town of Jacobabad, he said, adding that "There has been no bombardment, no assault, no weapons against Afghanistan by using Pakistan."

He asked the Afghan refugees to refrain from joining destructive activities in Pakistan.

Haider also said that religious organizations should not hold demonstrations if they cannot control outlaws from damaging properties. Afghan refugees who join violent demonstrations will be pushed out of Pakistan, he added.

Moeen said that Pakistan is the only country in the world which has accepted Afghan Government, provided shelter to millions of Afghan refugees and opened entry for females, children and elderly citizens. Afghans, therefore, should not join any destructive activity in Pakistan, he added.

The minister expressed concern over killing of innocent people of Afghanistan and said that United States should not prolong its mission.
