NPC Standing Committee 24th Meeting Concludes
The Standing Committee of China 's Ninth National People's Congress (NPC), the country's top legislative body, concluded its 24th meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on October 27.
The meeting, presided over by Li Peng, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, passed the Committee's decisions on amending laws on copyright, trademarks and trade unions. It also passed laws on prevention and treatment of occupational disease, and the use of maritime space.
Afterwards, Li summed up the major achievements of the meeting.
