The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) held a reception Friday to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Belgium.

Addressing at the occasion, CPAFFC's Vice President Su Guang said that with joint efforts from both sides, the Sino-Belgian relations have recorded great progress in the last 30 years, and recent years have seen even more fruitful exchanges and cooperation in trade and economy, technology, culture, education and military affairs between the two nations.

With the CPAFFC's coordination, friendly ties have been established between nine pairs of provinces and cities of these two countries, Su said, adding he believes that their existing friendly and cooperative ties and traditional friendship will be further promoted.

Belgian Ambassador to China Johan Maricou said relations between the two nations have been greatly developed in the past three decades, noting that the leaders' frequent exchange of visits have promoted their mutual understanding, and the bilateral cooperation in investment, trade, culture and tourism have also registered great progress.
