Shandong Beats Shanghai in China Soccer League

League runner-up Shanghai suffered a 3-1 defeat by the Shandong Luneng and Shaanxi Guoli trounced Shanyang Jinde 3-1 in the 18th round of the Chinese Soccer league first division, which resumed on Thursday after a three-month World Cup qualifying breaking.

Shanghai, with 35 points from the first 17 rounds and ranked second in the 14-team standings, could not find back it defense form when Shandong's forward Dengcheng drove into the box and goalkeeper Yu Weiliang had to pulled him down. Yu Weiliang was sent out of the field with a red card and Shangdong stroke home the penalty kick and led the score 1-0.

Shandong never slowed down their attacking waves and added the second the third goals in 25th and 34th minutes, respectively.

Qi Hong, the top striker lifted China's national team to their ever first World Cup finals rounds, saved the face of Shanghai with a penalty goal in the 80th minute but could not turn the game for the home fans.

Qingdao Beer also blew a home advantage as they went down to Chongqing Lifan 4-2. Chongqing took over the 11th place while Qingdao slipped to the 13th.

Tianjing was the third team to spoil a home win as they led for most of the game till the 87th minute when Bayi Zhenbang forced it 1-1 with a goal from Lu Bofei.

Shaanxi Guoli grabbed three points with d 3-1 win over the visiting Shenyang Jinde, who sunk in the bottom with only seven points from a 2-1-15 records.

the game between league leader Dalian Shide and Liaoning Fushun was postponed to November 4 as Dalian is preparing for the Asian Club Cup.
