Chinese Delegation Leaves for Russia

A Chinese delegation, headed by Huang Yicheng, chairman of the Chinese side of the Sino-Russian Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development, left Beijing Thursday for Russia, to attend the fourth plenary session of the committee.

Huang's entourage includes two vice-chairmen of the committee, Xiao Rong and Liu Guchang, as well as 19 committee members on the Chinese side.

The committee was established in 1997 as proposed by Chinese President Jiang Zemin and the first president of Russia Boris Yeltsin.

The committee, as a non-governmental organization, was composed of people from all walks of life.

Its main task is to promote the bilateral friendly relations, and enhance cooperation between the two countries.
