Late Chinese Vice-Premier's Remains Respected
People queued here Monday to pay respects to the remains of Yang Jingren, former vice premier and vice-chairman of the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth national committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Yang died from an illness here October 19 this year at the age of 84.

The remains of Yang Jingren, covered with the flag of the Communist Party of China, were placed amid fresh flowers and pines at Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.

Li Ruihuan, Hu Jintao, Li Lanqing, Wu Yi and other Party and government leaders paid their last respects to the remains of Yang Jingren and expressed their sympathy to Yang's family members.

When Yang was in a serious condition, Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Wei Jianxing and other Party and government leaders showed their concern in various forms.

Yang, born in 1918 in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, of the Hui nationality, joined the Communist Party of China in 1937.
