Beijing Mayor Meets US Business Council President

Facing new opportunities and challenges, Beijing is further improving its investment environment in line with the WTO rules and international conventions.

Beijing Mayor Liu Qi made the remark here Monday in a meeting with Robert A. Kapp, president of the United States-China Business Council.

Liu said that at present the Beijing Municipal Government is simplifying procedures for examining and approving investment projects, improving working efficiency and eradicating bureaucracy.

Liu invited more foreign enterprises to come to invest in Beijing, and promised that the city will open further to the outside world and provide an even better investment environment.

Kapp said he would like to see Beijing open further and create more opportunities for foreign investors, adding that he hoped that the U.S.-China trade cooperation would be further strengthened.
