U.S. Warplanes Resume Strikes Against Taliban, al-Qaida Targets

With the carrier resupplied with food, fuel and weapons, U.S. Navy pilots resumed their strikes against Taliban and al-Qaida targets Monday (local time) to focus increasingly on mobile targets, reports reaching here said.

In a nightly routine, planes were catapulted off the deck of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, starting with refueling and surveillance planes, followed by fighter and attack jets.

The crew of the Roosevelt launches U.S. Navy F-14 Tomcat fighters, EA-6B Prowler surveillance planes and Marine Corps F/A- 18C Hornet attack jets, according to an AP report.
