Shanghai Mayor Meets Chilean President

Shanghai Mayor Xu Kuangdi met with Chilean President Ricardo Lagos Escobar in Beijing on October 21.

Xu briefed the guest on Shanghai's economic development in the past few years, saying he would like to see more Chilean businesspeople come to Shanghai to invest.

Lagos extended congratulations on China's successful holding of the 2001 APEC conference, and admired the great changes in Shanghai.

He expressed the hope that the trade and economic cooperation between Chile and Shanghai would continue to develop.
