Two Kosovo Albanians Killed in Attack

Two ethnic Albanians died and one was injured Friday evening when their vehicle came under sudden attacks by unknown gunmen in Yugoslav province of Kosovo, Yugoslav state news agency Tanjug quoted news from Pristina as saying.

The attack occurred about 8 p.m. (1800GMT) near the town of Srbica, northwest of the Kosovan capital Pristina.

One of the victims in the shooting was journalist Bekim kastrati, who worked for Geneva-based daily Bota Sot, which is seen close to the Democratic League of Kosovo, a leading ethnic Albanian political party led by moderate Ibrahim Rugova.

The second victim, who died several hours after the shooting, was identified as Besim Dujaku, a former bodyguard of Rugova.

A third man injured in the shoot was Gani Geci, who is said also close to Rugova.

Those behind the killing are not yet known.
