U.S. Troops Carry Out Ground Operations Against Taliban

U.S. special forces on Friday launched attacks on a Taliban target in southern Afghanistan as the U.S. military operations entered a new phase in the Asian country, U.S. media reported.

"Army special forces and helicopter gunships are attacking Taliban military targets in Afghanistan," NBC TV network said.

Another U.S. television network, CBS, reported that between 100 and 200 U.S. Army Rangers were involved in the first ground raid against the Taliban.
