Flute-making Master Sets up Museum of Chinese Musical Instruments

A Chinese Musical Instrument Museum, financed by flute-making master Chang Dunming, was open to the public recently in Yangzhong City, east China's Jiangsu Province.

Covering a total area of 200 square meters, the museum displays over 200 kinds of Chinese musical instruments.

Chang began making musical instruments when he was 15 years old. He is director of the Shanghai Musical Instrument Factory.

Chang is famous for his skill in making flutes and Xiao, a vertical bamboo flute. In 1996 he made the world largest flute, which is 3.14 meters long and 4.9 centimeters in diameter
