China on High Alert to "White Powder"
The State General Administration for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine and the State Post Bureau lately jointly issued an urgent notice demanding tightened measures at various local levels are adopted to keep anthrax bacterial "white power out of China".
Since anthrax brings harm to people's health and animals, the notice asks all local quarantine and postal services to carry out intensive checks on inbound mails, deliveries and luggage, especially those from countries and regions exposed to anthrax hazards. As is demanded by the notice, under strict ban, no "white powder", explosives, drugs and hypertoxic substance are to be delivered and when should a suspicious white substance be found it must be immediately made known to related departments to get it properly disposed of.
