Beijing Party Chief, Mayor Meets HK Business Tycoon

Jia Qinglin, secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, together with Beijing Mayor Liu Qi, met here Thursday with Li Ka- shing, chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited.

Both Jia and Liu invited the company to participate in Beijing' s urban construction and development.

Li congratulated Beijing on its successful bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games, and expressed the hope to make a bigger contribution to the city's urban construction.
