U.S. Intensifies Propaganda War Against Taliban

The U.S.-led forces intensified the propaganda war Thursday as they launched a new wave of airstrikes against Afghanistan, according to news reports from Afghanistan.

In an efforts to destroy the spirit of the Taliban members, the U.S. military radio claimed that the forces were using the "state- of-art" weapons in the current strikes that boasted "very high accuracy" in hitting the targets. "You have no way to escape, but surrender," the radio warned in the local languages.

At the same time, the opposition Northern Alliance that controls large part in the north of the country, said it had advanced to within some five miles of the Taliban-controlled strategic city Mazar-e-Sharif. "We are poised to control the city anytime," its military official was quoted as saying.

The U.S.-led military campaign has been continuing since October 7 against Osama bin Laden and his Taliban protectors in Afghanistan.

Bin Laden has been accused of masterminding the September 11 terror strikes on New York and Washington which left more than 5, 700 dead and missing.
