Israeli Minister Shot in Jerusalem

Outgoing Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi was critically wounded early Wednesday morning by a gunman as he left his room in Jerusalem's Hyatt Hotel.

According to Israeli Army radio reports, Ze'evi had been shot in the head and rushed to hospital "without a pulse."

Meanwhile, Israeli police have notified all ministers to stay home.

Ze'evi, together with National Infrastructures Minister Avigdor Lieberman, submitted their resignation on Monday afternoon. According to Israeli law, their resignation will become effective on Wednesday afternoon.

Ze'evi and Lieberman said they were resigning because of the government decision to withdraw from the Israeli occupied territories in Hebron.
