Old Industrial Base Beefs Up Technological Renovation

Workers in Liaoning Province, a traditional industrial base in northeast China, have launched over 330,000 technological innovation projects over the past decade, producing 11.3 billion yuan (1.36 billion U.S. dollars) in economic value.

Most of the local enterprises have established technological renovation systems and some 4,500 technical collaboration organizations, involving 300,000 local workers, have been widely set up across the province under the local government's encouragement.

Statistics show that more than 45,000 selected technological innovation projects have been spread to local enterprises in the past 10 years, reducing the economic cost of 5.3 billion yuan (639 million U.S. dollars).

A recent exhibition and trade fair of such projects held in Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning, fully highlighted the achievements made by local workers in the industries of automobile, mechanics and electronics, shipbuilding, petrochemistry and marine life exploitation.
