Southeast China Frontier Police Step Up Combating Illegal migration

A 15-day special campaign against illegal migration through containers has been launched by the frontier police of Fuzhou, a port city and capital of southeast China's Fujian Province.

The campaign is an immediate response to a recent illegal migration case in which 25 Chinese citizens, stowaways en route to the Republic of Korea (ROK), were stifled to death in the freezing hold of a fishing boat and their bodies were dumped into the sea, sources said.

The frontier police has urged its forces to be on high alert and examine carefully each ship, especially the fishing ships bound for ROK and Indonesia.
