China to Hold Recruiting Exam for International Civil Servant Reserve
The 3rd examination for recruiting international civil servants for the United Nations, co-sponsored by China Ministry of Personnel and United Nations Secretariat, will be held in China at the beginning of 2002.
This November will see the Ministry of Personnel and relevant departments hold a nationwide examination in preparation for next year's recruitment of international civil servants and strengthen the team of China's international civil servants reserve. Qualifiers out of this examination will be put into the file of the state's archives for international civil servant reserve and will take part in the UN examination in 2002.
International civil servants are employees who work for the United Nations and other international units. Under the leadership of the international units, the civil servants, working for all UN member countries, play a special role on maintaining world peace and promoting the common development in the world. China, since resumed the legal membership of the United Nations in 1971, has begun to dispatch international civil servants to UN and other international units. And so far, over 550 Chinese are working in these units.
According to authorities for Ministry of Personnel, on China's impending entry into WTO, China's open examination for selecting international civil servants reserve will further promote the cooperation between China and international units, making more Chinese talents step onto the world arena for world competition. This open examination, including the five specialties in economy, finance, statistics, information processing and news, will be held in Beijing and Shanghai at the same time in the last ten-day of the coming November.
