Taiwan Sina Club Invites Michael Jordan's Coach
The Taiwan (Suzhou) Sina Lions club is inviting Don Casey, who is coaching American super star Michael Jordan, to help them in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), official of the club said on Monday.
"It's almost sure that Mr. Casey will join us in a few days after his training with Michael Jordan," said Chen Chung Hung, manager of Sina club.
The Lions will play the 2001-02 CBA season for the first time as the 13th team in the league, which is dubbed as the No.1 basketball league in Asia.
Casey, one of the best defensive training coaches in NBA, served for the New Jersey Nets before he accepted Jordan's invitation for the 38-year-old's return to the court.
The American coach will join Chiou Dah Tzong, who coached the Sina team to three successive titles in Taiwan domestic league before coming into CBA, and assistant coach Zhang Degui, who assisted the Chinese national team for the Asian championship in July.
