Taliban Claims Recapturing Capital of Ghor Province
Head of the Taliban Intelligence Qari Ahmedullah on Monday claimed they have recaptured Chakhchran, capital of Ghor province, from the opposition Northern Alliance, according to a report by the
Pakistan
-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).
The Taliban official said they recaptured the city after 4 hours of severe fighting and a former Taliban commander Qazi Abdullah who surrendered to the opposition few days ago returned to the Taliban forces along with his fighters.
