China's Export Grows by 7 Percent

China did 376.37 billion US dollars-worth of foreign trade in the first nine months of the year, up nine percent from the same period last year.

At a recent news briefing in Guangzhou, Gao Yan, spokeswoman with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC), said the country exported 194.98 billion US dollars-worth of commodities from January to September this year, a rise of seven percent.

During the same period, China imported 181.39 billion US dollars-worth of commodities, up 11.2 percent.

Since the beginning of this year, China has been practicing macro control policies and has worked out a range of measures, including raising the ratio of export tax rebate and lifting restrictions on foreign trade, to spur the country's export and promote foreign trade development.

Gao pledged that in the next three months, China would work to maintain an increase in the country's foreign trade in an effort to contribute to the national economic growth.
