Shanghai International Convention Center

Shanghai International Convention Center is set as the main venue for the 2001 Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation Meeting (APEC) of Ministers Responsible for Trade.

The center, with a total floor space of 110,000 square meters, is located by the Huangpu River and sees the famous Bund across the river. A typical architecture that integrates the oriental style with the western, the center has been listed as one of the top ten classic buildings in the city in the last 50 years.

It is also a five-star hotel named Oriental Riverside Hotel, with 260 guest rooms and suites.

The center is equipped with various advanced conference facilities. The 4,400-square-meter grand banquet hall is said to be the largest in Asia that may entertain 3,000 people for banquet and host 4,000 people for conference. It is where banquets were held during the 1999 Fortune Global Forum.

The international hall of the convention center can accommodate 800 persons and provide simultaneous interpretation service in ten languages. An additional 24 meeting rooms of different sizes equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities can host 25 to 200 persons.
