Israeli Warplanes Violate Lebanese Airspace Again: ReportIsraeli warplanes continued violating Lebanese airspace on Friday, the official NNA news agency reported.Israeli planes flew over the disputed Shebaa Farms and several southern Lebanese villages on Friday after infringing into southern Lebanon with high frequency on Thursday night, NNA said. Confirming the violation by Israeli aircraft, the U.N. sources have warned that Israeli flights across the withdrawal line in Lebanon could lead to greater tension in the area at this sensitive period. Israel pulled out its troops from Lebanon in May 2000, ending its 22-year occupation. Lebanon does not take Israel's withdrawal as an end to warfare between the two countries, as Beirut holds that Israeli troops still occupy the Shebaa Farms, which Israel claimed to be part of Syria's Golan Heights it captured in 1967 Middle East war. Beirut and the Lebanese resistance guerrilla group Hezbollah, or Party of God, insist on the sovereignty of the land. Hezbollah has threatened to continue its fighting until the complete pullout of Israeli troops from Lebanon. |
