U.S. House Passes Anti-Terrorism BillThe U.S. House of Representatives on Friday approved a bill that gives the Bush administration new power to track suspected terrorists but put a five-year expiration date on it.The House voted 337-79 to pass the bill that gives federal law enforcement agencies expanded power and new rights to keep suspect immigrants in detention. The bill will be sent back to the U.S. Senate, where a version passed Thursday night by 96-1 vote without the expiration on wiretapping authority. |
