NBC News Says Employee Exposed to Anthrax

U.S. NBC News said Friday that one of its employees in New York has tested positive for anthrax.

The anthrax is not the same respiratory anthrax that killed a Florida man recently, the network said in a statement.

It is not the inhaled form, but instead a form that is contracted through contact with the skin, the network said.

It said the employee, who is working at the network's New York headquarters at Rockefeller Center, was not in danger and "should fully recover."

The female patient, whose name is not disclosed, has received treatment and is responding well, according to the network.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Centers for Disease Control are investigating the new anthrax case. This is the fourth anthrax case found in the U.S. after the September 11 terrorist attacks.
