China's First "Chip" Fully Put into Production
"Star I" (ZC0301), China's first million gates large scale SOC (system-on-chip) with its independent intellectual property rights has been fully put into production, announced Beijing's V Microelectronic Corporation on Friday.
As a milestone in Chinese IT Industry, the success of "Star I" represents that the age of "no chip" has ended in China.
With the use of deep sub-micron technology, "Star I" has reached the leading advanced level of Intel's Pentium series. The SOC can be widely used in many fields, including digital cameras, computer shoots, visible networks and safety monitors. It is bound to further promote and accelerate the extensive use of wide-band network.
