Bush to Discuss Missile Defense With Putin in Shanghai

US President George W. Bush said on Thursday night that he will discuss missile defense system with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Shanghai later this month.

Speaking at a prime time press conference, Bush said that the ABM treaty, which "was signed in a totally different world," is " outdated and useless."

"The cold war is over and it has been done with" and the missile defense case is "stronger than ever" after the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States, Bush said.

Bush and Putin will come to Shanghai to attend the October 20- 22 APEC meeting.
