International Fruit, Vegetables Fair Held in East ChinaAn international fruit and vegetables fair opened Thursday in Xiamen, a coastal city in east China's Fujian Province.An enormous number of tropical and sub-tropical fruits and vegetables, processing equipment and technologies, are being exhibited at the fair. In addition to displaying the new achievements in the fruit and vegetables industry, the fair also aims to promote international technological exchanges and cooperation in this sphere. A forum, a symposium, and a series of special speeches on the fruit and vegetables industry will be held during the fair, which will attract many participants from the United States, Canada, France and other countries. The fair was sponsored mainly by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific of the United Nations and the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture. |
