China's Telephone Subscribers Exceed 300 Million
The latest statistics show that the number of telephone subscribers in the country has reached 302 million, a new record in the development history of China's telecommunications industry.
The statistics were jointly released here Thursday by China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom.
It is learned that the number of telephone users in China amounted to 200 million in September last year.
According to the three telecom companies, the number of Chinese telephone users had exceeded 300 million by the end of September.
China has witnessed rapid development of the telecommunications industry since the implementation of the reform and opening up policy more than 20 years ago.
The country now has seven major enterprises and a number of small and medium-sized enterprises competing in the communications and information service market.
