Schroeder to Visit China and India
German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder will make an official visit to China and India later in October or early in November, a government spokesman said on Tuesday.
The spokesman said Schroeder had been planning the trip for some time and would discuss the US-led battle against terrorism among other issues.
He said it was not yet clear whom Schroeder would meet in India and China or exactly when he would visit.
German business leaders will also be involved in the trip, he added.
The Indian Foreign Ministry said Schroeder would probably arrive next week.
Schroeder's planned visit follows British Prime Minister Tony Blair's trip to India last weekend which was aimed at bolstering support for the war on terrorism.
