A French National Arrested by Taliban Near Jalalabad, AfghanistanA Frenchman national was arrested by the Taliban authorities Tuesday in Goshta village, 35 kilometers east from Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar province in Afghanistan, according to a report by the Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).The Frenchman national, disguised in a "Burqa" (full-length veil) was accompanied by two other persons who were also arrested by the Taliban forces. No further details are available so far, said AIP. Almost two weeks ago, a British newswoman from the London-based Sunday Express Yvonne Ridley was arrested by the Taliban authorities near Jalalabad, who was charged by the Taliban authorities with entering the country without any passport or visa. |
