China's southmost Hainan Province is to host a two-week recreational festival in Haikou and Sanya, two of its major cities, from November 16-30.
Sources from the provincial government say that the festival will include 32 entertainment activities and 11 expositions and forums.
The activities will include art performances, river rafting, collective weddings, diving contests. At the same time, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum, the Chinese mayors forum and a series of meetings including one for tourism officials will be held.
The festival will be jointly sponsored by the State Tourism Administration and the Hainan provincial government.
