Rules Set for Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive Election
The first election procedures for choosing the next chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region were announced on Friday. The election will be held on March 24th next year.
The second chief executive will be selected by an 800-member election commission that was established last July. The commission is made up of 38 groups representing people from different trades, social groups and regional organizations. The election rules specified procedures for voter registration and for eliminating losing candidates.
