Facilities Donated by China to Cambodian Senate Inaugurated

Four buildings including a library donated by the People's Republic of China to the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia was officially inaugurated Friday morning in Phnom Penh.

The construction of these facilities, which consist of 4,250 square meters, began on November 15, 2000.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony at the Senate, Chea Sim, president of Senate, said that "this aid is a proof of the most precious and great ties of friendship and solidarity which none can be estimated. These facilities constitute to the big and new change in terms of infrastructure of the Senate which really meets the requirement for institutional development of the Legislature."

He expressed that Cambodia and China would continue to strengthen cooperation in all fields so as to further developing the ties of friendship, sincere solidarity, and mutual understanding.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Ning Fukui said at the inauguration that the China-donated library, office buildings, relevant gates and roads could be a contribution to the improvement of working conditions and environments of the Senate of Cambodia and the development of Sino-Cambodian friendly relations.
