Cambodian Cabinet Approves Draft Law on Civil Aviation
A civil aviation draft law was passed on Friday by a meeting of the Council of Ministers presided over by Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Stipulation of a civil aviation law is aimed to maintain the security and order of civil aviation industry in Cambodia, thus ensuring the safety of flights, said a press release issued on Friday.
It is also aimed to promote management and marketing of the industry and the development of the Cambodian civil aviation, as well as to enhance safety and confidence of the civil aviation, the release said.
The Kingdom of Cambodia has the right to control its territorial waters, land and sky, the release noted, saying that a passenger airplane from any country is not allowed to enter into the territorial air of Cambodia without permission, in addition to related regulations of the International Law and bilateral agreements.
Construction and enlargement of an airport in Cambodia, as well as management of a Cambodian airport must conform to the relevant regulations of the Cambodian civil law, the release added.
