Shanghai Pudong Airport Well Prepared for APEC Meeting

Shanghai Pudong International Airport said that it is well prepared for the upcoming economic leaders' meeting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

Leaders and senior officials from more than 20 APEC member economies are expected to participate in the annual APEC meeting scheduled in mid October.

The airport, which is in Shanghai's Pudong New District, has improved its security facilities, telecommunication equipment and services for special and chartered flights, said an official with the airport.

An additional apron for special airplanes, with an area of about 320,000 square meters, was completed in May.

China Eastern Airlines, which is among the country's top three airlines, will assume the responsibility for provide services for airplanes parking in the Pudong Airport.
