More Foreign Investments for Development Zone in Hebei

Hebei Province in north China, neighboring the Chinese capital of Beijing, has successfully attracted foreign investments for its economic development zones in a wide range of areas.

Statistics show that investment from the U.S., Japan and European countries has topped 2.98 billion U.S. dollars.

Hebei now has about 500 development zones, which offer preferential policies and convenient services for foreign-owned and joint-venture enterprises. The provincial government has appropriated about 1.9 billion yuan (about 228 million U.S. dollars) for improving the infrastructure in the zones.

The province will provide opportunities for investment in the sectors of finance, insurance, telecommunications, tourism, legal affairs consulting, infrastructure construction and environmental protection, according to government officials.

Hebei, with an area of 188,000 square kilometers and a population of 66 million, has a wealth of natural resources and convenient transportation.
