Greeks Oppose Military Response to 9.11 Attacks

The vast majority of Greeks oppose a military response to the terrorist strikes of September 11 by the United States, according to a V-PRC opinion poll published on Monday.

The poll results showed 86.2 percent of Greeks are against military action by the U.S. in response to the attacks. In the event that a military operation is decided on, 72.1 percent believe that Greece should not participate and 21.3 percent believe that it should.

Greece, a member of both NATO and EU, has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in the U.S. while repeatedly stressing that any military action by the West should be based on evidence.
