Chongqing Tightens Supervision over Tourist Guides

Tourists guides in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality were required to wear badges as well as their IC cards when on duty as of Monday.

This new measure was implemented by the Chongqing Tourism Administration Bureau in order to standardize the tourism industry.

The IC card is something like an electronic identity card, in which the name, gender, age, ranking and related contents can be found out about the guides. And their experiences, work places and resumes can be available to tourism administrations at various levels through the card.

Experts held that the method is conducive to supervising tourist guides, thus upgrading the levels of their service.
