Hezbollah Vows to Offer Direct Military Support to Intifada

Lebanese resistance guerrilla group Hezbollah vowed to offer direct military interference to support Palestinians' intifada, or uprising, the Daily Star newspaper reported on Saturday.

Secretary General of Hezbollah, or Party of God, Hassan Nasrallah make the offer Friday in a gathering marking the first anniversary of the intifada in south Lebanon.

"Hezbollah is always committed to the intifada. We will start to support our Palestinian brethren with military means if the interests of the Palestinian resistance say so," he said.

Meanwhile, he stated that the Islamic world should not mistake U.S. President George W. Bush's war against terror as a Christian " crusade" against Muslims.

"We should not deal with this war as if it is a Christian war against Islam and Muslims. The Zionist desire is to see war and conflicts between Muslims and Christians," he said.

On the September 11 suicide attacks in the United States, he reaffirmed Hezbollah's condemnation of the killings of innocent people all over the world.

He also viewed the United States as intending to secure hegemony over the world via its anti-terror campaign.

In reference to the possibility of Hezbollah being targeted in future U.S. operations, Nasrallah said: "Everything we say before September 11, we will continue to say. The event might change the whole world, but will not change our way at all."

Hezbollah is listed by the U.S. Department of State as a terrorist organization, but so far there is no indication showing Hezbollah has links with the terrorist attacks on September 11.
