Investigations Against British Newswoman Continue in Afghanistan

A Taliban official said on Saturday that a case against the British newswoman, who illegally entered the country, has been registered by the Taliban intelligence agency and investigations are under way.

According to the Pakistan-base Afghan Islamic Press (AIP), Evan Redly, a journalist from the London Express News, was arrested by the Taliban authorities on Friday in Dar Baba district, some 60 kilometers southeast from Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar province. She was in Afghan traditional dress while arrested.

The British newswoman was charged by the Taliban authorities with entering the country without any passport or visa.
