Pak Delegation Fails to Convince Taliban on Osama IssueThe Pakistani delegation of clerics on Friday returned from Kandahar, the Taliban headquarters, failing to convince the Taliban regime to hand over Osama bin Laden. The delegation, accompanied by the Chief of the Interior Service Intelligence (ISI), Lt General Mahmood Ahmed, left here Friday morning in a bid to persuade the Taliban authorities to hand over Osama, alleged by the United States as the "prime suspect" in the September 11 attacks. Pakistani religious scholars said that Taliban has no intention to hand over Osama. So the talks failed to achieve any result. This is the second delegation from Pakistan to Afghanistan in a week. Last week, a delegation on behalf of the Pakistani government led by the ISI chief went to Kandahar on a similar mission. |
