Seminar Held for Business Delegates from HK, Interior of China
A seminar was held Saturday morning in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to enhance the exchanges between the business elite from Hong Kong and the interior of China.
Wang Zhaoguo, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and head of the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communit Party Central Committee, met the delegates and emphasized the importance of frequent business communications between the two regions.
Wang believed that the rosy economic situation in the interior of China, the country's World Trade Organisation (WTO) entry and Beijing's successful bid for the 2008 Olympic Games would provide business opportunities for Hong Kong and the interior of China.
Business elite from the two areas were called upon to increase mutual understanding, seek more consensus, strengthen contacts, improve cooperation and join hands to contribute more to the prosperity of the interior of China and Hong Kong.
